If there is too much stuff and you don't know where to begin, I will work with you to create a plan that meets your goals. Whether you want to stay in your home and create a safer, less stressful environment, or move to a smaller living space; we will work together to sort, pack, and prepare for the future. You may help as much or as little as you wish. If you are able to sort and pack for yourself, you may use me more as a consultant to keep you on track and to be a guide.
Customize Floor Plans
Once you have made the decision to move, I can help with room planning and deciding what will fit in your new home. Using an accurate floor plan of your new home, and measurements of your favorite furniture pieces, we will work together to plan out exactly where your furniture will go. This will save time and money on moving day. Once you move, I can unpack and put items in their proper place, hang pictures, set up cable and phone systems, make beds and whatever else you would like.
How much will this cost?
The best answer to this question is "I don't know yet." The best way to determine the cost is to meet at your home and learn what services you may want to use. I will then provide a written estimate for you, usually a range, based on our initial meeting. The initial consultation is free, and then you decide if you would like to use my services and if Golden Age is a good fit for you. The estimate will be based on an approximate number of hours required to complete your move. You, your family, and friends can help as much as you want to keep you within your budget.

Moving Can Seem Overwhelming
Making the transition to a senior apartment, cottage, or a retirement community can be a lot of work for one or two people to do by themselves. Many adult children are working full-time, raising children, or have moved out of the area, making it difficult for them to be there for their parents during this process. Having help from a senior move manager can allow children to be a source of support for their parent during this stressful time, as well as save money from lost hours from work.
We can be there for emotional support along with providing hands-on assistance with packing, labeling, and decision making during the pre-move phase. This type of move is not an ordinary move. There are many feelings that can arise during this process. Sometimes it can help to share your memories with someone as you pack. All information shared is always confidential.
We are a very small, locally run company with deep York County roots. Our owner, Julie Ream, has been trained by the National Association of Senior Move Managers (NASMM). NASMM requires it's members to maintain the highest ethical standards, as well as follow the rules of self-determination and confidentiality.
